Next to the Park

We were then off to Riverside Park (I believe that is what it is called), we have been to all the parks in New Ulm, so we like to switch it up from the "usuals". The kids really have no preference, they just enjoy going!

Porter and Grammy going down the BIG slide!

Braylon and Grammy next! I just LOVE this picture, same facial expression and their hair is blowing. Just too cute!

Porter's new favorite way to smile. He just cracks me up!

Adalyn snoozing in her carrier (the BEST purchase ever). I was checking out a woodpecker

Braylon's very handsome smile, he looks so old!

Porter smiling, he really wanted to give me his giant smile, but I asked for nice smile and this is what I got :)

The park was so much fun! I love watching how excited they get to run around to all the different toys. Porter is a bit of a dare devil and climbs anything and everything without help or guidance. Braylon loves to go down the slide over and over again, good thing Grammy was with because Mommy doesn't like slides too much!

Saturday Fun at Grandma's...

We spent Saturday with Grandma Pammy, we had to do a few wedding things and then we were off to enjoy the B-E-A-UTIFUL weather!

We started off by playing at Grandma's house

The boys digging away in the sandbox, they would build a roof and live in a sandbox if we allowed it!

Mommy and Adalyn swinging together.

Braylon and Grams adoring Adalyn. She isn't loved at all ;)

Adalyn chewing on her keys.

5's a crowd!

Porter has been in his big boy bed for the past couple weeks, there are things that I miss about him being in his crib, like how easy he was to put to sleep, and that he would sleep all night long in his crib! It was a needed transition though, as we found him a few times dangling from his crib upside down, side ways or he would successfully climb out and surprise us all! Since the change, we have had a few nights that we have 5 living, breathing creatures in our bed (Queen size bed), the boys, myself, Benjamin and Reese all sharing that small quarters. It doesn't last long because Ben usually grabs one of them and heads to their room to sleep with one.
The other morning Ben and I were getting ready, and when I walked out of the bathroom I found the sweetest sight, two sleeping boys and a sleeping dog in our places, they weren't there when I went into shower, but they sure looked adorable and comfy!

Holy Buckets!!!!!

Have I ever mentioned how easy Braylon was to potty train? He was the easiest in potty training history, in my opinion, he went potty when we asked him to and as long as we asked him every 30 minutes he would do is business until one day he told us he had to go and well then came the not wanting to be a baby like his little brother and he refused to wear diapers even at bedtime! Luckily Braylon has only had a few (3) night time accidents and each one was due to either an ear infection (2) or bronchitis (1). He paved the way for potty training in our household....
Than came our Maxie... Well in true "Porter" fashion, he doesn't and won't do what we expect, want or ask him to do, unless he wants to do it! He never has and I am afraid he never will, I wonder if reverse psychology would work on him? Anyway... We have been working with Porter on potty training since he has been a little over 2, about October. I was hoping and thinking that he would pick it up right away because he is so interested in all that the potty has to offer and he really loves to sit on the potty, mostly so he can flush the potty, even if nothing is in the potty... After Adalyn was born we took 500 million giant steps backwards and he refused in every way to have anything to do with the potty, especially using it! We continued to ask if he wants to go, being very careful not to push the subject too much, we didn't want it to become the "dreaded" potty, usually he said No!
Well Porter woke up on Monday and decided that today was the day he was done with diapers and he must wear undies! He got out of his bed and came into Ben and I's room while we were getting ready and told Ben he had to pee, so he gets himself undressed and climbs on the potty and pee's like he has been doing it for months! Ben and I shocked just stared at him and thought, do we pick him up, jump up and down, twirl him around, give him all the M&M's (Porter's key to his heart is M's) he could want and tell him how good of a job he is doing! Or do we say good job, mommy and daddy are proud of you! We didn't want to scare him off. So we offered him a M&M for telling us he had to go and for going, telling him how proud we were of him and how he is such a big boy! That was enough to please that little boy, you should have seen the smile on his face!
Porter has since been wearing undies all day! He did have two accidents last night when we were outside playing, Braylon went through that phase too, playing outside is just too fun to stop and come in and go potty, but the most important thing in my mind is he realized right away that he had gone, that it was uncomfortable to sit in and asked to be changed, and even finished going on the potty. We can't even begin to explain how excited we are that Porter has decided that he wants to be a big boy, not "baby" Porter (as he refers to his old self) and wear undies and do his business in the potty!
As Porter would say "HOLY BUCKETS!!!!!!"
Look at that big boy in his big boy undies!!!!

Easter

Holidays are always busy for us! Easter we stayed in New Ulm, thank goodness! We try to spend as much time with family as we can, especially because Easter is the holiday that the Briggs come back to New Ulm and we love to spend time with them! But by the end of Easter weekend we were all exhausted!
The whole gang at the Easter Egg Hunt at Church, minus me and Adalyn, I am taking the picture and she was in her carrier attached to me :)

Daddy and Picks (Benjamin and the boys nickname for Adalyn, it actually has stuck pretty good)

Daddy and his boys going down the slide together!

Grams and her boys down the slide next!

The "ladies" Easter Sunday!

Braylon got a Vikings Helmet from the Easter Bunny, along with a wrestler and TMN Turtles movie! He was so excited about getting a helmet like Candon's, except Candon's is not as cool of colors (Sorry Unlce Kevin, Ben's brainwashing not mine ;))

Porter also got a helmet! (We can never just have one of anything), he also got a new Grave Digger that flips and does cool jumps and a TMN Turtles movie as well.

We have a wonderfully amazing Easter. We went to my Grandma's in the afternoon, but I left my camera in the car, my mom has one picture I believe.
We are very blessed to have amazing families!

Our other children...

Benjamin and I have had the opportunity to "babysit" my cousin's two little ones for the past several months, her oldest boy has wrestling every Tuesday and her mom has bowling, so Ben and I volunteered to watch CJ and Kenley on Tuesdays. Well wrestling ended last week, but Ashley had to have surgery on Monday, so we got the opportunity to watch them again this week! The kids have SOOOOOO much fun together and it is like having 5 kids, something I think we could have done, but am glad we chose not to :) The kids are so well behaved and they play great together. Ben said it best the other day when he said it is tradition, why stop now! We have offered to continue to take the kids on Tuesdays so that she can get stuff done, like grocery shop without three kids, or do date night with her oldest since he is 9 and doesn't get much one on one time. Being a single mom is hard and we enjoy having our "other"children on Tuesdays!

Ms. Kenley (or Benjamin calls her Mowgli)

CJ racing his monster truck down the roller coaster.

The five of them (excuse the mess I am getting ready for the Epilepsy drive next Tuesday)

4 months!

Adalyn turned 4 months old last Tuesday (yes I am just getting to post this), I am a little behind! I can not believe how fast the time has gone by! She is the "easiest" baby! She has reached a point where she loves to bounce in her Baby Einstein jumper, she loves to sit in her bumbo chair, and she loves to be held by her mommy :) Her brothers entertain her all the minutes of the day! Her daddy loves her up every chance her brothers allow him to and she doesn't mind a few Reese slicks here and there either! All of these things must tucker her right out because she sleeps the night away, very rarely getting up in the middle of the night. Something this mommy isn't complaining about!
Adalyn went to her 4 month check last Wednesday, she weighted 13 pounds 13 oz (55%) and was 24.5 inches long (61%), her head circumference is so different than our boys, whose heads were off the charts before their weight and height were on the charts, Adalyn's head is only in the 24%. She will take after her mother, not her father :)

Happy Birthday Evie!

We went to the Field House for Evie's birthday yesterday, the boys had a great time! Adalyn slept the entire time.

A visit from the Briggs

Coley, Candon and Kenna came home last weekend and spent Saturday with us! The kids had SO much fun together. Braylon LOVES it when Candon comes to play. He asks me at least once a week if we can go to Candon's house or if Candon can come to his house, usually when I say Candon isn't coming home this weekend, he then asks if they can play at Grandma's, he doesn't fully understand that he doesn't live down the street. We are hoping in March we will be able to get down to La Crosse (heads up Briggs' family).

The justice League running around! (I found a three pack of undies at Target and Candon loves Batman, so I thought it would be adorable to have them each enjoy new undies!) Candon as Batman, Porter as the Green Lantern and Bray as Superman.

Braylon and Candon playing on the steps! They have so much fun together.

All three of the rugrats. Porter had an accident in his green lantern undies so had to put on his diaper.

Where oh where could they be?

The other night the boys hauled out all of their blankets from their room and were trying to make a fort, well with a little help from Mommy they had a pretty big fort, with multiple doors and lots of room for toys and laughter! The boys thought it was pretty much the coolest thing ever!

They were just laughing up a storm in here, especially when Ben walked in and pretended like he couldn't find them!

Here is their fort, it was a lot of fun to build and play in but I think the boys had the most fun jumping on top of it to take it down!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!!

Feb 1st was Ben's birthday and Braylon got to spend the day with me, Porter spent the day with Grandma Joan (it was his Wednesday). Braylon and I made cookies in the morning for Daddy and then went down to work and dropped them off for him and his co-workers to enjoy!

Mixing like a pro!

A day home with Mommy!

My maternity leave is coming to an end, only two weeks left :( (I am the saddest mommy in the entire world!), but I have had the opportunity to enjoy the time with Adalyn and have kept the boys home a few days with us too. We took the opportunity to bake cookies, paint, work on our shapes, colors, writing and letter recognition. The boys had so much fun and Braylon asks me every morning if he gets to stay home with Mommy and Adalyn. I wish I got to say yes every single day, because unfortunately they grow up WAY too fast!

Braylon painted Monster trucks, construction vehicles, tractors and various other motor vehicles, Porter painted me shapes, announcing every color he was using
